Epistemologi Pengilmuan Islam Kuntowijoyo dan Relevansinya Bagi Pemikiran Keislaman
Keywords:
Islamic Thought, Epistemology, KuntowijoyoAbstract
Kuntowijoyo's thoughts on "Islamic knowledge" emerged as a critical response to the concept of "Islamization of knowledge" put forward by Naquib al-Attas and Isma'il Raji al-Faruqi. Kuntowijoyo proposes an alternative approach that emphasizes the importance of understanding knowledge through the objectification of Islamic values, where Islamic symbols are not directly highlighted, but implemented in actions that are objective and universal. Through qualitative research based on literature studies, this article examines the relevance of Kuntowijoyo's Islamic scholarship in building an integral Islamic science paradigm. This approach unites revelation and human reason, making Islam the foundation for the development of knowledge that can be enjoyed by all mankind (rahmatan lil alamin). This idea is realized through integralization and objectification, offering a new perspective for Islamic scholarship that crosses religious and cultural boundaries, and making a significant contribution to prophetic social science that focuses on humanization, liberation, and transcendence.
