Qur’anic tilawah is a religious practice with distinctive spiritual and aesthetic values. The advancement of digital technology has transformed how Muslims engage with tilawah through the digitalization of the mushaf, online learning, and the utilization of social media by qari and Qur’anic teachers. While digitalization provides easier access and expands the reach of Qur’anic education, it also presents challenges to the authenticity of recitation, particularly in aspects of tajwid, maqām, and the etiquette of tilawah. This study adopts an interdisciplinary approach by integrating Aesthetic Theory and digital communication theory, examining the gap between the normative framework of tilawah (law in book) and its actual practice in the digital sphere (law in action). Data was collected through literature studies and interviews with qari and Islamic scholars to understand the impact of digitalization on the authenticity of Qur’anic tilawah. The findings indicate that while digitalization offers opportunities for disseminating tajwid and nagham knowledge, challenges such as the diminishing direct interaction between teachers and students, the tendency to imitate without comprehension, and the use of digital effects that may obscure tilawah standards need to be addressed. Therefore, strategies that integrate technological advancements while preserving the traditional values of Qur’anic tilawah are necessary.
