Abstract

Student delinquency is any act of a student that violates the law, both state and religious law as well as social norms, customs that apply in society or the environment including violations of norms that apply in educational institutions. This study aims to determine the form of student delinquency and the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Teachers in overcoming this delinquency at SMP IT Al-Mumtaazah Pedamaran. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the forms of delinquency of class VII students include truancy, not doing assignments, cheating, being late, and fights between students. PAI teachers act as educators, mentors, counselors, and advisors who actively carry out preventive, repressive, and curative efforts in dealing with student deviant behavior. This study emphasizes the importance of religious education in character formation and preventing student delinquency.
